Round fins

Last week I recommended and linked to a source for round PDF style fins. I recommend them because they are the right size, not too big, and also can be used for breaststroke the only fins out there that can be used for all four strokes and puts your foot in the proper position for breaststroke kicking. I have had a few follow on questions, which ones to get and if there are alternatives. Two swimmers have previously used the fins I Have recommended and they didn't love the comfort of the fins. On the other hand I've used them for years and never had a problem.

These are the two types I recommend. They are the same but one type is in Calvert Hall Colors

I have had a couple of questions about the fins on the same page that have a full foot design. While it seems like those fins should work, I've never used them, have no idea how they work in practice, so I can't recommend them from personal experience, but they should work.

Reaching a bit further, someone else asked if there are any short fins that might work. Well, I've tried a few in my time and I can say that fins with a ridge on them to keep them stiff definitely don't work. Here's an example of what wouldn't work.

Don't get these!

If any non-round fins might work, it would be some that don't have any extra ridges in them for stiffness. A possible fin that doesn't have a ridge in it is the TYR burner fins, those specifically.

Maybe, but try round ones first

Look forward to seeing you in the pool!
